they give and give
until they forget who they were,
smiling, while sinking,
kind elsewhere
but never kind to themselves
waiting for life to be fair
and luck to be favorable,
waiting for someone
to see the goodness in them.
but nobody comes,
just more people needing more.
they were too gentle
and too humble to say no
too scared to offend
or leave.
but being good
is not about being used,
it’s about building your principles,
your spine and your bastion
before you lend your hand.

Good people get tested the most, because they have the most responsibility.
And their goodness is taken for granted.
