Do you love the monotony of waking up early, battling traffic on the way to office, and enduring endless emails and meetings during the day? It seems like we are stuck in a never-ending cycle of work. We live in a world full of complex rules, strange customs, and an obsession with productivity.
But what about our animal counterparts? Ever wonder what they’re up to while we’re slogging away at our jobs? Sometimes I get envious just by observing the carefree way in which they are “living the dream”.
Today was such a time, and I decided to pen down my points of envy:
Animals are the Zen Masters of Sleep. They don’t have have alarm clocks to interrupt their peaceful slumber. While I’m busy snoozing my alarm for the tenth time, my canine friend somewhere has already had their fourth nap of the day. Animals have truly mastered the art of relaxation, showcasing their impeccable sleeping skills in the most unconventional places – like even on the bonnet of an SUV.
Animals have masterted the art of Snack Hunting. While I’m busy scouring the office for a semi-decent cup of tea, animals are out there, living their best lives as snack connoisseurs. Birds have perfected the art of swooping down on unsuspecting sandwiches at the park, while squirrels display their acrobatic prowess as they snag a tasty treat from your backyard. These animals have made snack hunting into an art form (in their world), making me question why I am wasting my time in the office canteen when there’s a world of culinary delights out there waiting to be explored, and devoured.
Animals are the Fashionistas of Nature. Who needs a closet full of designer clothes when you can rock a luxurious fur coat or a vibrant plumage or even move around naked? Animals are the ultimate fashionistas, effortlessly donning their stylish attire without the need for shopping sprees or going through fashion blogs. Nature has bestowed these creatures with a wardrobe that would put even the most dedicated shopaholic to shame.
Animals are eligible to be Professors in The Art of Communication. Forget about endless emails and conference calls; animals have a much simpler and often more effective way of communicating. Whether it’s a dog wagging its tail to express joy or a wild bird’s whistle to convey contentment, animals have honed their communication skills to perfection. They certainly do not feel the need for jargon-filled meetings or long-winded PowerPoint presentations; a simple bark or meow can get the point across with far less effort and confusion. Maybe it’s time we took a page from their playbook and streamlined our own communication methods.
Animals have perfected their Art of Acting Innocent. Humans have a soft spot for cute and innocent-looking animals. Whether it’s a cute puppy or a mischievous cat, perfecting your “puppy-dog eyes” or your “oh-so-helpless meow” can work wonders. Humans will melt at the sight of these animals’ adorable facade, leaving them defenseless against clever antics. Remember, a little innocence can go a long way in acquiring extra treats and belly rubs!
Animals are “Pros” at embracing the joy of simple pleasures. Humans tend to complicate everything, but animals have mastered the art of finding joy in simplicity. From the sheer delight of chasing a laser pointer to the pure bliss of rolling around in a patch of grass, animals understand the importance of savoring the small things in life. Observing these animals have taught me that life’s too short to take everything so seriously. But I often forget this in the face of serious things.
It’s clear that animals have unearthed the secret to enjoying life and living the dream without a 9-to-5 job. From their envy-inducing sleep schedules to their impeccable snacking abilities, animals effortlessly navigate life’s pleasures with a finesse that we humans can only dream of.
We need to acknowledge the absurdity of the human world and realize that sometimes, the best way to survive is to unleash our inner animals and revel in the serendipity of it all.
