The Grass Is Dead, Everywhere

They always think there’s something better, don’t they? People chase after dreams like they’re running for their lives, convinced that life is brighter, easier somewhere else. They see someone with a bigger house, a nicer car, a better job, and they think that is the answer. That’s the green grass. But it’s not.

The grass is dead on all sides. You just don’t see it until you get close enough.

The person with the big house? Probably drowning in debt. The one with the perfect job? Hates every minute of it. The one who smiles in all those pictures? Cries when no one’s looking.

Life is a trap, and the more you run, the deeper you sink. In today’s times, people search for meaning in all the wrong places, hoping to find it in a bank account, a relationship, or a vacation. But when they finally reach that other side, they realize it’s the same old thing – empty and meaningless.

And when the truth hits, it’s like a punch on the chest – painful and brutal. Then people start looking for a way out. They wonder if there’s any point in continuing this broken game. Maybe, some find comfort in distractions—alcohol, pills, cheap thrills. Some others might just stop caring, dragging themselves through each day, a shell of what they used to be.

In the end, they’re left staring at the dead grass beneath their feet, realizing it was never green. All it ever was, was just an illusion. And maybe, that’s the hardest part – the understanding that there’s no escape. No greener pasture. Just the same cracked, dry earth, no matter where they stand.
