Review:
Survival by Royal Bliss feels like a long night that doesn’t end, but somehow you’re still standing. Neal Middleton’s voice has this grit, like he’s been through some forest fire and lived to tell about it. You hear it in tracks like “Fire Within” and “Black Rhino,” where the guitars don’t just play, they howl. There’s anger there, and a fight. It’s rock for people who’ve taken a few hits and kept swinging.
“Fight Another Day” is exactly what it sounds like – a song for the wounded who still get out of bed and try. The whole album speaks to that, the effort, the struggle, the daily battle just to get through. It’s not polished, but that’s where the beauty is. There’s nothing fake here, no shine, just a bunch of guys playing their hearts out.
They aren’t breaking new ground, and they’re not trying to. It’s familiar, but in a way that feels like an old friend, one who’s been through the same hell as you. The songs bleed, the emotions are raw, and the message is clear: survival isn’t pretty, but it’s worth it.
Survival is rock music that doesn’t pretend to be anything else – just honest, and sometimes, that’s the hardest thing to find.
